A mirror mistake can be subtle until the video reaches someone else. A teacher may point left while the viewer sees right. A piano, guitar, workout, cooking, repair, or craft lesson can become confusing when hands are reversed. A product demo can show labels backwards, and a support screen recording can make interface direction harder to understand. Flip video creates a corrected file rather than asking every viewer to use a player mirror button that may not exist.

The difference between rotation and flipping matters. Rotation turns the entire frame around the center. Flipping mirrors the frame across a horizontal or vertical axis. If a phone clip is sideways, use a rotation tool. If the scene faces the wrong way, text is backwards, or an overhead camera has inverted the top and bottom of the frame, a flip is the right operation. Watch the exported MP4 carefully. Text, logos, UI labels, arrows, map direction, instrument strings, hand dominance, body movement, and product orientation can reveal whether the flip is correct. If the clip is instructional, ask whether the viewer should copy the exact left-right direction or simply understand the motion. If the file is evidence, training material, or a legal attachment, do not mirror it unless the mirrored version is truly the intended record.
